Here at El Ingenio, we are firmly committed to sustainability, so we have developed an ESG Plan to continue incorporating good practices, always striving to make our premises and facilities respectful of the environment, health and society. Our work in this area is aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and we have drawn up a plan so that each year we can have a more positive impact on our surroundings.

Certifications: El Ingenio has obtained the BREEAM Certification (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) and is rated “Very Good”. This is the most technically advanced and world-leading method of sustainability assessment and certification in construction, highlighting the impact of more sustainable construction on savings, as well as the health and environmental benefits for everyone linked to the life of a building, whilst also conveying the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to society.
Energy:
Carbon Footprint: We are working on registering and off-setting our carbon footprint.
Lighting and climate contro: The facilities and premises of El Ingenio are very efficient, performing all the relevant maintenance tasks and improving their management with a view to optimising resources (LED lighting, timers for air conditioning, heating, ventilation, etc).
Waste and recycling: At our Centre, we are very involved in the management of waste and recycling (organics, plastics, cardboard, glass, hangers, packaging, etc).
Water: We have systems in place to ensure the responsible use of fundamental resources such as water to avoid wastage (dry urinals, taps and cisterns with infrared sensor, among others).
Biodiversity: We have outdoor gardens and a green wall, planted with native species, where we limit the use of harmful chemicals.
GOVERNANCE
Community: At El Ingenio, we organise actions and events, as well as support initiatives run by other institutions, which promote values such as health, solidarity, education, culture, sport and healthy living. We do this in different ways:
We give space to Associations and NGOs so that they can publicise their work in our facilities.
We collaborate by making donations and sponsoring actions promoted by local entities, which help people at risk of social exclusion, promote healthy living habits and work to spread the local culture and facilities.
We hold events and participate in actions both digitally and in our facilities: Earth Hour, workshops related to the Environment, spreading of good practices in digital media.
Transparency and commitments: we are an active entity, constantly striving to improve our environment and maintain on-going dialogue with tenants, suppliers, institutions and customers.

Accessibility: Our building is adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Chargers for electric vehicles: We have 6 chargers for electric vehicles in our car park, with an extension planned that will include even more charging points.
Air quality: We carry out air quality analysis and have filtration systems to guarantee it.
Cleaning: We work not only to ensure that our premises and facilities are clean, but also to use green and non-toxic cleaning products as far as possible.
